I have to say that these are the Ferarri of lights! There is a reason why rental houses in NY, SF and Europe rent these. You'll hardly see this sold because people keep them.

Gary Cruz (amazestudios) > Fully compatible with all 32 channels used by PocketWizard, the new Profoto Acute2R eliminates the need for a synch cord and separate PocketWizard receiver. With an effective range of up to 300 feet, the Profoto Acute2R can be fired using any model PocketWizard transmitter or transceiver. You can also use the Sekonic L-358 or L-608 light meters, with the PocketWizard transmitter enabled, to fire the generator.

In order to maintain the simple elegance that Profoto is known for, the Profoto Acute2R has no buttons or switches to set when selecting a channel. Simply turn the generator on and the system is put into “Learn” mode. The first PocketWizard signal it receives, it remembers. To reset, just turn the generator off, then on again and repeat. This simple approach eliminates any learning curve for the photographer. The Acute2Rs are available in both 1200 and 2400 w/s versions. (The original Acute2 units without the PocketWizard receivers remain as part of the Acute product line.) The Profoto Acute 2 and Acute2R packs offer fast recycling times and very short flash durations. As with the Profoto Acute 2, the Acute2R also includes a fully proportional
modeling light and a white-light slave that can be turned off.

Gary Cruz (amazestudios) > Profoto heads are as practical as they are elegantly simple. All Acute2 and Acute heads accept the same modular light shaping tools. The basic Profoto Acute2 modular flash head design features a circular, heavy duty, Quartz flash tube and UV coated protection dome that surrounds both the flash tube and the standard 250-watt modeling light. It provides even illumination and maximum light output. All lamphead cables feature Profoto special connectors for arc-proof performance and the ultimate in reliability. All heads are also supplied with a 5/8' stand adapter to mount the units to any standard light stand.

Acute2 units take advantage of the mini-can bases modeling light, which is standard with professional lighting systems. Using this standard bulb is an advantage to any photographer who travels, as they are readily available in a variety of voltages for use all over the world.

Modular heads feature fan cooled operation and accepts all Profoto light shaping tools. These heads feature heavy-duty cables to allow for higher performance and greater reliability. The 250 watt modeling light features a mini-can base which is standard in professional lighting systems. Also included: heavy duty, Quartz flash tube and UV coated protection dome, 16' head cable, zoom reflector and plastic transport cap.

Optimized Color Output
Acute2 heads produce a color temperature of 5400 degrees Kelvin standard. There are other options that are also available by replacing the protection dome with a more heavily coated dome. There is an additional dome available that offers additional warming in a 300-degree increment, for a color temperature of 5100 degree, or uncoated dome which gives a 300-degree colder light.
